Located on a small rise, just a stone’s throw from the sea, Bellecroft House, completely renovated in 2024, overlooks some 450 feet of private seafront, offering panoramic views of Trinity Harbour, the lighthouse and the village of Trinity just across the bay.
A Brief History
Much of the early history of the Bellecroft House is shrouded in local fog. A deed dating to 1841 shows a ‘new house’ – the home of fisherman John Fowlow and his family – on the current site of Bellecroft House, while the depiction of a nearby ‘old house’ on the same sketch implies still earlier occupation.
The present Bellecroft House is probably not the original ‘new house’ of the survey, but a later version, most likely dating to the late 1800s. Of classic saltbox style, its many windows provide south-facing views of the sea. While the restoration has maintained the historic exterior, internal renovations have been designed for maximum comfort and convenience of the visitor.
The ground floor offers an open living and dining space and a full kitchen, while the second storey hosts two generous bedrooms – both with queen beds – and two full, modern bathrooms, one of which is ensuite.
